Ponta Grossa Association for Assistance to Children with Disabilities
It is an arm of Apacd and serves the SUS or privately under the prescription of professionals in the field of rehabilitation. The technical team, highly specialized, is composed of an orthopedist, orthosis and prosthesis technician, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and psychologist. The sum of these specialties makes the recovery quite safe, as well as fast and effective.
AXILLARY CRUTCHES
Before they were heavier, made of wood. Currently they are very light and made of aluminum. They are the most traditional models and meet different types of needs.
ALUMINUM WALKER
External support for ambulation. They replace crutches in the early stages of walking. The triangular and reciprocal models are prescribed according to the needs of each patient.
BATH CHAIR
It is very useful and versatile and can be attached to the toilet so you don't have to transfer the person to the toilet several times a day, and offers the possibility of bathing the entire body (under the shower) without having to get up, among other necessities.
TRANSFERMURAL PROSTHESIS
Modular prostheses with the connection of the knee joint with the foot performed by tubes and adapters. These tubes may be made of steel, titanium or carbon fiber. The choice of components will depend on the condition of the stump, physical status, patient age, weight, height and degree of physical activity. The socket may be quadrilateral with sciatic support or completion of the ischium. The suspension will be carried out by a suction valve, which can be associated with the Silesian belt.
DENNIS BRAW
For patients with knee ligament injury, under conservative treatment or in post-surgical convalescence. Allows active mobility with gradable restriction in degrees of extension and complete restriction of rotations.
CANADIAN CRUTCHES
They are placed between the armpits, providing more security and stability to the patient. Canadian crutches are very light and allow the patient to keep their hands freer, since there is a support for the forearm that holds the crutch even when the hand is released.
WHEELCHAIR
For the person with limited mobility and who cannot walk, whether due to orthopedic, neurological, perceptual, sensory needs, as well as reduced mobility due to advanced age (elderly individual).
TRANSTIBIAL PROSTHESIS
Supported by the patellar tendon. Suspension with a supracondylar or coxal strap, the latter being indicated for short stumps or quadriceps weakness.
SUROPODAL ORTHOSES
External support for ambulation. They replace crutches in the early stages of walking. The triangular and reciprocal models are prescribed according to the needs of each patient.
LIFT FOR FOOTWEAR
Anatomical shoes have an elevation that helps correct foot posture.
INSOLES
Also known as orthopedic orthotics, the use of orthopedic insoles is recommended to treat pain that limits perfect locomotion. The main function of this model is to correct functional or structural aspects of the neuromusculoskeletal system, taking care of the health of the feet, ankles and knees.
